How many holiday parties do you have coming up? Make your life easy by pickling your own asparagus and creating simple but delicious appetizers with them. Bonus? You can gift your extra pickled goods to hostesses or guests, or teachers! We'll teach the basics of canning and how to make pickles together! After we’re done making a seasonally delicious pickle, we’ll create a few appetizers with them that you can recreate at home. Then of course we’ll be snacking on them and enjoying punch. Everyone will walk away with lots of food preservation knowledge and a custom labeled jar of the asparagus we make during the class.
In the class we will go over local agriculture and nutrition, how sustainability directly affects our health and our community, canning supplies, myths, methods and step by step procedures. You'll be emailed a booklet with everything mapped out in detail to help you begin urban canning small batches on your own!
The class is held at The Urban Canning Kitchen and taught by founder, Illene Sofranko. Address is 1040 4 St. N in St. Pete!
This class is $75 and there are 14 seats available!
*If you need to cancel your seat, you must do so at least 48 hours before the class takes place. If not contacted 48 hours before canceling, the purchase cannot be refunded or transferred to another class. Thanks!
