This class is all about canning and pie making! We’ll teach you everything you need to know about preserving and beginner canning. You’ll learn how to make and can cherry pie filling! You’ll also be learning how to craft the perfect pie crust. We’ll be pie tasting throughout the class as well. Everyone walks out with a jar of cherry pie filling, and the pie crust you made in class.
Kaitlin Crockett from Oma Darlin will also be joining us! Not only is she the co-owner of Print St Pete, she’s also an incredibly talented pie maker! She’ll be bringing along pies for us to taste, and teaching us how to make the perfect crust.
In the class we will go over local agriculture and nutrition, how sustainability directly affects our health and our community, canning supplies, myths, methods and step by step procedures. You'll be emailed a booklet with everything mapped out in detail to help you begin urban canning small batches on your own!
