This class is for all you PUMPKIN lovers out there! Fall is in full swing and there’s nothing more fall than some pumpkin butter on a biscuit. We will go over canning for beginners and we will create our own apple butter together! We'll teach you the difference between jelly, jams, chutneys, preserves and conserves. Everyone will walk away with lots of food preservation knowledge and a custom labeled jar of pumpkin butter we make during the class.
In the class we will go over local agriculture and nutrition, how sustainability directly affects our health and our community, canning supplies, myths, methods and step by step procedures. You'll be emailed a booklet with everything mapped out in detail to help you begin urban canning small batches on your own!
The class is held at The Urban Canning Kitchen and taught by founder, Illene Sofranko. Address is 1040 4 St. N in St. Pete!
This class is $55 and there are 14 seats available!
