Learn how to make a sweet and spicy seasonal jam, Strawberry Jalapeño! Paired with cheese or on proteins, there are endless ways to use this jam! You’ll be making this all season long. We'll teach you the difference between jelly, jams, chutneys, preserves and conserves! We will go over canning for beginners and we will create Strawberry Jalapeño together! Everyone will walk away with lots of food preservation knowledge and a jar of the jam we make during the class.
In the class we will go over local agriculture and nutrition, how sustainability directly affects our health and our community, canning supplies, myths, methods and step by step procedures. You'll be emailed a booklet with everything mapped out in detail to help you begin urban canning small batches on your own!
