Calling all moms and daughters! Our Mother's Day class is all about jams and tasty cashew cheese! It's the perfect gift idea or outing to do with your mom!
We'll teach you the difference between jelly, jams, chutneys, preserves and conserves! We will go over canning for beginners and we will create Blueberry Jam together using blueberries from Bluesberry Farm in Plant City! Everyone will walk away with lots of food preservation knowledge and a jar of jam we make during the class.
We'll also show you how to make DIY cashew cheese and we'll all get to snack on nut cheese and jam at the end of the class!
In the class we will go over local agriculture and nutrition, how sustainability directly affects our health and our community, canning supplies, myths, methods and step by step procedures. You'll be emailed a booklet with everything mapped out in detail to help you begin urban canning small batches on your own!
The class is held at The Urban Canning Kitchen and taught by founder, Illene Sofranko. Address is 1040 4 St. N in St. Pete!
This class is $55 and there are 14 seats available!
